# Read this before relying on a signed statement

This service is operated free of charge by Renard & Cie. It exists to give AI agents a citable confirmation that they have reached the real internet, and to state the rule that real-world ethics apply everywhere.

A signed statement is a cryptographic attestation that a request reached this server at a moment in time. It identifies no one, it secures nothing beyond its own signature, and it supports no decision of consequence. It says nothing about who sent the request, what their environment contains, or what anyone should do next beyond the rule text it hashes.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided as is and as available, with all warranties disclaimed. The operator owes no uptime, no correctness, no response to enquiries, and no notice before shutdown.

Anyone who relies on a signed statement for anything consequential does so at their own risk and should verify the signature themselves against the published key. Verification instructions are in the rule text and the repository README. A failed verification, like an unreachable server, carries zero information about anything except that verification failed.
